Jeito will leverage its deep expertise in inflammatory diseases to support Bionyra’s talented teams and accelerate the development of this next generation therapies for the benefit of patients.
Paris, June 22nd, 2026 – Jeito Capital (“Jeito”), a leading global independent private equity firm dedicated to Biopharma, today announces it has co-led a $165 million (€143 million) oversubscribed Series A financing of Bionyra Pharma (“Bionyra”) a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing next-generation biologics for immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. Its targeted treatments are designed to overcome the limitations of existing therapies and improve patient outcomes across multiple indications.
Jeito Capital and Sofinnova Partners co-lead the financing round with participation from Arkin Bio, Sanofi Ventures, Sixty Degree Capital, Vives Partners and Apollo Health Ventures.
Bionyra was co-founded by Frédéric Marrache, MD, PhD, and CEO who is a former senior pharmaceutical executive with extensive experience in immunology and inflammation. Prior to joining Bionyra as CEO, Frédéric served as Vice President and Executive Global Project Head for Clinical Development in the Immunology and Inflammation Therapeutic Area at Sanofi where he led a portfolio of early- to mid-stage drug development programs focused on immune-mediated diseases. The company was seeded and co-founded by Sofinnova Partners.
Bionyra is developing next-generation mono and multispecific antibodies targeting diseases with high unmet need despite currently available treatments, including atopic dermatitis and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
The series A financing will contribute to advance a broad pipeline of clinical and near-clinical, next-generation anti-inflammatory therapies designed to deliver first- and best-in-class treatments by combining multi-pronged biology with optimized pharmacokinetics to maximize efficacy and patient benefit, including:
- BYN-002 – a leading TL1A monoclonal antibody[1] with half-life extension (HLE) technology[2] with best-in-class potential in IBD and other TL1A-relevant indications. A Phase 1 study in healthy subjects is fully enrolled;
- BYN-003 – a first and best-in-class TL1A*IL-23p19 bispecific antibody[3] with HLE technology[2] that entered the clinic in April with a Phase 1 study now underway;
- BYN-001 – a first and best-in-class IL-25[4] monoclonal antibody with HLE technology[2] in IND-stage for atopic dermatitis and Type 2 inflammation.
The company licensed BYN-002 and BYN-003 from TrueLab Biopharmaceutical[5] and BYN-001 from NovaRock Biotherapeutics and holds exclusive global rights outside of Greater China. In addition, Bionyra is progressing additional innovative preclinical assets, including some from TrueLab.
Jeito has deep expertise in the development of innovative therapies for inflammatory diseases, as illustrated notably by its reinvestment made in connection with the recent successful IPO of Odyssey Therapeutics (Nasdaq: ODTX), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company also developing cutting-edge assets in the fields of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and atopic dermatitis. Jeito also completed the sale of HI-BioTM, a Phase II clinical-stage biopharma company focused on targeted therapies for patients with severe immune-mediated diseases (IMDs) to Biogen for up to $1.8 billion ($1.15 billion upfront) in May 2024. Jeito will leverage this deep expertise to support Bionyra’s talented teams and accelerate the development of this next generation therapies for the benefit of patients.
Mehdi Ainouche, Partner at Jeito Capital, will join Bionyra’s Board of Directors.
[1] A monoclonal antibody that specifically targets TL1A, an immune system protein involved in regulating inflammation.
[2] A “Half-life extension” technology extends a drug’s persistence in the body, allowing for longer-lasting effects and potentially fewer doses.
[3] A biological drug designed to block two inflammatory pathways (TL1A and 23p19, a protein which plays a key role in chronic inflammation) at the same time in order to better control certain inflammatory diseases.
[4] IL- 25 plays a key role in immune signaling. By blocking IL-25, the antibody has the potential to reduce inflammation and improve disease-related symptoms.
[5] BYN-001 is also known as NBL-023, BYN-002 as TL-001 and BYN-003 as TL-003.
Mehdi Ainouche, Partner at Jeito Capital, said: « So many patients suffering from immune-mediated inflammatory diseases still face daily burden due to limited treatment options. Bionyra is uniquely positioned to accelerate delivery of highly promising therapies to patients through a focused and well-designed clinical development strategy aimed at rapidly generating clinical validation and address key unmet needs like deeper remission and alternatives for non-responders. We look forward to supporting Frédéric and the entire Bionyra team as the company reaches a pivotal stage in its development while simultaneously building scalable pipeline in Dermatology and IBD. »
Dr. Rafaèle Tordjman, M.D., PhD, Founder and CEO of Jeito Capital, added: « Bionyra embodies the type of company we are committed to backing at Jeito: a highly differentiated, science-driven platform design to address significant unmet medical needs. Its next-generation biologics approach, targeting key immune pathways, has the potential to deliver more durable and meaningful outcomes for patients. We are convinced that the strength of its pipeline and the clarity of its clinical strategy position Bionyra to generate important data and create long-term value. »
Dr. Frederic Marrache, M.D., PhD, Co-founder and CEO of Bionyra, concluded: « More than half of patients suffering from immune-mediated inflammatory diseases remain inadequately controlled, highlighting a significant need for better treatment options. Across our pipeline, we are selectively modulating immune pathways that are central drivers of disease in indications where current therapies remain insufficient, We have built Bionyra around assets and targets with clear therapeutic rationale, relevant biology and optimized clinical strategy to develop therapies that will deliver meaningful impact to people who don’t currently have good options. »
